The CDSA is an institutional investment in new and enhanced research data tools and services.  The initiative is faculty-driven and coordinated by OIT, the Duke Libraries and OR&I. The CDSA launched in the fall of 2024 and aims to roll out enhanced or new services and tools over the next several years.

The Compute & Data Services Alliance for Research (CDSA) is a response to the ever-evolving needs of the research community and the increasing complexity of conducting, sharing, and publishing research today.

What is the CDSA?

The Compute and Data Services Alliances for Research (CDSA) is an institutional investment in new and enhanced research data tools and services.  The initiative is faculty-driven and coordinated by OIT, the Duke Libraries and OR&I

This innovative alliance is a response to the ever-evolving needs of the research community and the increasing complexity of conducting, sharing, and publishing research today. It will empower Duke researchers to focus on discovery, innovation, and scholarship by providing comprehensive services and support.

How did the CDSA begin?

Building upon our experience and expertise, in 2022, we coordinated a comprehensive, cross-departmental assessment of the research computing support and service needs for Duke's non-clinical researchers. View the reports below for detail on the needs assessment and resulting priorities.

  • More no-cost resources, including expertise and services

  • Rapid support response

  • Easier access to helpful information and smoother access to services

  • Competitive services to attract and retain research talent
