Sylvia joined the myRESEARCHnavigators team in October 2024. In that role she focuses on welcoming new faculty in the humanities and interpretive social sciences and connecting them with resources they need to pursue their research and publishing projects. She draws on her decades of experience in scholarly publishing, grantwriting, and grant management to advise on book, fellowship, and grant proposals. In her role as Director for Scholarly Publishing and Research Development at the John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute, she also manages the FHI Faculty Book Manuscript program, the Faculty Bookwatch events series, and the Publishing Humanities Initiative. Sylvia holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and an M.A. from Columbia University, both in Comparative Literature.
