Director, Office of Campus Research Development
Dr. Sohini Sengupta brings unique expertise to her role as the Director of the Office of Campus Research Development (OCRD). She was a Research Assistant Professor with the UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Social Medicine in the School of Medicine from 2002 to 2010, having been a Principal Investigator (PI) on an NIH K Award and an investigator on a number of other extramural awards. She then worked in research-related faculty development with the UNC Center for Faculty Excellence for 7 years helping faculty with grant writing, being successful PIs, and being better faculty mentors. She joined Duke as the new OCRD Director in August 2017 and has built an office that provides proposal development support to the Duke research community on a wide range of federal funding opportunities, including through NSF, NIH, DoD, DOE, and humanities programs.
