Project Manager
Rachel Bingle joined Duke University in 2022 as a Staff Assistant supporting the Offices of the Associate Vice President for Research & Innovation. In that role, she consistently applied her strong organizational and communication skills to help teams collaborate more effectively. In 2024, she moved into a new position with the Research Project Management Core in the Duke Office of Research Initiatives (DORI), where she supports a variety of interdisciplinary research projects through strategic planning and coordination.
Rachel has contributed to a wide range of high-priority projects, including developing websites and associated mobile apps to improve access to information, engaging with national partners on strategic communications, and helping navigate international research regulations. She’s also been involved in organizing major events like academic conferences and campus-wide symposiums, helping make sure they run smoothly and have a meaningful impact.
Additionally, Rachel coordinates faculty and staff research development programming, introduces tools that help teams work more efficiently, and encourages collaboration across research groups. She’s has experience leveraging financial systems like Concur and Buy@Duke, to make purchasing, expense tracking, and reconciliation more streamlined.
Originally from central Ohio, Rachel has called the Triangle home since 2009. She earned her bachelor’s degree in health & human services from The University of Arizona. Rachel is passionate about driving innovation and supporting the advancement of research excellence at Duke.
