Project Manager
Kristen Gerondelis joined Duke University in 2016, beginning in the Office of Pediatric Education where she supported the Vice Chair. She later moved to the Department of Mathematics, where she held several key administrative positions including Program Coordinator and Assistant to the Chair, overseeing departmental operations, conferences, and events. She transitioned to the role of Teaching Coordinator in which she played a pivotal part in restructuring and managing the Graduate Teacher Training Program. Drawing on her strong background in education, she led graduate teaching seminars, conducted classroom observations with feedback, and developed and facilitated departmental training sessions. Kristen also managed the Undergraduate Teaching Assistant Program, supervising a large staff in various instructional roles.
Across her time at Duke, Kristen has supported a range of strategic initiatives, including the planning and execution of meetings, workshops, and research symposia in collaboration with external partners. She has also led the coordination of a major academic conference in environmental engineering and contributes to the management of collaborative research grants focused on environmental initiatives.
Kristen brings a strong aptitude for evaluating programs involving multiple stakeholders, with a talent for identifying diverse needs, aligning goals, and fostering effective collaboration. She excels at translating complex challenges into actionable strategies and developing systems that improve communication, streamline workflows, and enhance program outcomes. Her approach is both strategic and detail-oriented, enabling her to build sustainable, adaptable structures in dynamic academic and research settings.
A Durham resident since 2001, Kristen holds a master’s degree in education from SUNY Brockport and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Rochester. She is passionate about problem-solving, bringing structure to programs, and contributing to the community through service and engagement.
