Before the Nobel Prize, Weissman and Karikó Drew Honors, Support From Duke
University of Pennsylvania researchers Drew Weissman and Katalin Karikó, new Nobel Prize winners in medicine for their mRNA research that paved the way for effective COVID vaccines, had to overcome significant skepticism before their innovative work won wide acceptance. During that effort, they received valuable assistance and support from Duke colleagues.
