Project Planner I
Mary Anderson joined the Academic Project Management Core in the summer of 2026 as a Project Planner I, bringing extensive experience in project management, operations management, and cross-functional collaboration. As part of the APMC, she supports the planning and execution of academic and administrative initiatives, partnering with stakeholders within and across units to advance institutional priorities.
Prior to joining Duke, Mary served as a senior operations manager in the field of scholarly publishing. She led project portfolios across operational divisions focused on workflow development, hiring and onboarding, curriculum design and implementation, operational efficiency, and process development and optimization. Mary has a Master of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of California, Irvine and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Haverford College. She also holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
