Kelly C. Tang is a Ph.D. candidate working under the supervision of Professor Stanley Abe. Her dissertation, "The Fantastic Theater of Twentieth-Century Chinese Art," examines the figure of the Chinese literati artist in the 20th century diasporic context through film, photography, and popular culture.
Prior to her work at Duke University, Kelly received a BA in Art History and Asian American Studies magna cum laude from the University of California Los Angeles and an MPhil with Distinction in Modern Chinese Studies from the University of Oxford.
In 2020, Kelly was elected graduate Young Trustee and will serve a three year term on the University's Board of Trustees.
