Lab Safety Awareness Week 2023
The Occupational and Environmental Safety Office (OESO) will host a Lab Safety Awareness Week February 13ththrough the 17th. The awareness week will focus on different themes including personal protective equipment, lab safety management, and a simulator for hands-on fire extinguisher practice. There will also be lab safety pop-up tables in the lobby of MSRB3 on February 14th from 11 am - 2 pm and the lobby of French Family Science Center on February 16th from 11 am - 2 pm. The safety pop-up tables will have members of the Laboratory Safety, Biological Safety, Fire & Life Safety, and other OESO divisions to answer your safety-related questions.
In addition, OESO Lab Safety encourages Principal Investigators, lab managers & others to check out the related free webinars hosted by LabManager.com that week – there will be a webinar on Risk Assessment on February 14 at 1 PM and an “Academic Lab Management Digital Summit” consisting of several webinars on Feb 15 and 16. Lab Manager webinars are recorded and the content from prior webinars is available on their website.
