CDSA Monthly Update: June 2025
Welcome to your CDSA e-update - where we share news and updates about Compute and Data Services Alliance(CDSA) initiatives, services, tools, and enhancements.
CDSA was well-represented at Tech Expo – with CDSA-related presentations and people. Check out the Duke Data Attic and the Research Toolkits presentations 2025 Tech Expo presentations. Additionally, you can watch the recorded session Research Toolkits: Compute Your Way to Academic Glory; other recordings can be found here.
AI curious? Duke Learning Innovation & Lifetime Education (LILE) is holding three AI-related learning opportunities the week of June 9. Ready to get started with DukeGPT? Head over to the OIT DukeGPT website that has all the intel, including a DukeGPT Quick-Start Guide. DukeGPT uses an intuitive, generative AI interface and provides a secure, university-managed platform to explore and compare advanced AI models. Built specifically for the university community, it is designed to offer Duke models and tools, integrated with Duke data and best practices (but not with protected health information).
Did you know CDSA has five working groups? Each group is focused on a different area – metrics, staff readiness, researcher engagement, AI/ML, and training. Today’s featured working group is the Researcher Engagement Working Group. Below you will find a snapshot on their goal, progress, and what’s next. Are you interested in having someone from CDSA join your departmental or staff meeting? Please reach out to us – we would love to share all things CDSA with you and your colleagues. Do you want to meet in person? We plan to be at the UseR! Conference on August 8-10, hosted by the Center for Computational Thinking.
