Ariely conducted an experiment, putting either Cokes or cash into shared dormitory refrigerators. Seventy-two hours later, the Cokes were all gone, the money untouched.

Talk about self-contradictory. PhDs from UNC AND Duke? He sounds worthy of study himself.

THat is so interesting. I cannot wait to take part in experiments like that once I have studied psych at DUKE (at least as a major). What are you talking about though?? man, “contradiction” is saying that you value knowledge and intellect yet refuse an institution from the other because of your preference. . . *Obviously* Duke is 1,000 times better. But at the end of the day it’s your passion for knowledge that gets you ahead - Imagine loving a school but refusing education because it’s not your preference. is there sense in that? He must be very smart man, to have been accepted by both institutions. To me its impressive, his curiosity and creativity in the field. To me intillegince and knowledge is not about competition. Its about sharing knowledge to grow widen my capacity for thought. Intelligence is enhanced by cameraderie. If you really want to be smart - if you truly love knowledge you will delve into any pool of it you encounter simply to learn from others and be a SOURCE of knowledge yourself. Competition distracts that. Then again maybe my ramble is because I’ve lived away from my native capitalist country for several years. who knows.
